Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? I graduated in 2010 from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Mathematics andActuarial Sciences. I grew up in the New Forest and moved to London for the ICAP graduate scheme. I left ICAP in 2013 and rejoined in 2015 as a Valuation Analytics Specialist for triCalculate which is TriOptima’s new counterparty credit risk platform.
What’s your role in TriOptima? I am a Valuation Analytics Specialist, my team supports the triCalculate platform. We get involved with almost all client management, from participating in sales pitches to onboarding and ensuring the service is running smoothly for existing clients.
What do you enjoy the most with your role? The role is very diverse! We often travel to visit our European clients, it’s a great opportunity to meet people and expand our network. We also find ourselves spending days at a time understanding the client’s portfolio and ensuring it is correctly translated into our Credit Valuation Adjustment calculation engine, we also stay closely involved in the development of the platform as it is still a relatively new service.
What do you find challenging? Some products are incredibly bespoke and change from client to client. It is sometimes a challenge to extract the right information from the client so that we fully understand the trade, nevertheless we always get there in the end!
How would you describe the TriOptima company culture? The TriOptima company culture is great. There is a very flat structure and you have employees of all levels / regions working closely together. Everyone has respect for their colleagues time / work load, there is a real team effort across all services.
What don’t we know about you? I’m a massive fan of the TV series the US Office and once paid $50 for a Dwight Schrute bobble-head.
